How did the development of the steam engine change where factories could be located

    The development of the steam machine was crucial in the location of the factories. When the steam machine did not exist the factories had to be placed by the rivers because they provided the power needed. When the steam machine was invented it changed and the factories could be located everywhere because the power was provided by the machine.
