How does Spain's commercial monopoly affect the price of goods being imported into and exported out of the colonies?

    Since Spain had absolute power of its colonies, the price of the goods traded among them and Spain itself was greatly affected. Basically the colonies of Spain sold their goods at low prices and buy what they need from Spain at high prices. Ultimately, Spain was the greater benefactor of any trade.
