Newly independent nations in Latin America relied on U. S and European goods and services because they were undeveloped economies still based on agriculture.

    Explanation:

This is a very difficult question because first of all we could confound that there were industries to produce goods or services produced only by the U. S. or Europe, but after The Latin American countries carried out their Independence they weren't even able to create the goods and services they imported from their former rulers. Since they didn't' even had the industries to create the goods or produce the services even if they were inferiors. Thus, the products couldn't be more expensive than the U. S. or Europeans, because there wasn't even an established way to produce them.
