    Chian kai shek failed to protect the chinese people from the japanese invasion of Manchuria during the 2nd world war.

    Also, under his leadership, the economy of the country collapsed completely and many people suffered from poverty and starvation as a result.

    In addition, during his time, only a selected percentage of the population benefited. specially the rich elite and they benefited from the exploitation of poor citizens. This was a main reason behind the rise of communism in China.
