What was the consequence to Native Americans caused by the destruction of the buffalo herds?

The Plains tribes of North America were dependent on the traveling buffalo herds not only as a food source but also many of the goods they had were mad from different parts of the buffalo. Because of the destruction of the herds it caused many of the Tribes to give up their freedoms and live under U. S. jurisdiction.
