Are Black and White people truly equal in today's society?

they are still not truly equal in today society. This is because in many places people still think they are better then other races. This is because it is all a mind set. So people do treat them the same or even better for the black and others just keep thinking white is better.

Most adults, regardless of race or ethnicity, say blacks are treated less fairly than whites in encounters with police and by the criminal justice system, but there's less consensus about the treatment of blacks in other situations, such as when applying for a loan or mortgage or in stores or restaurants.

So I'd say no.
