The state of Oklahoma was formed in 1907, formed from the Indian Territory created by the American Congress in 1828, which reserved it to receive the Indians transferred from the eastern part of the United States, who thus ceded their original lands to the whites. The first to have land reserved there were people from the Southeast, known as "the five civilized tribes" - Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, Seminole, and Cherokee. The Chickasaw were from the northern part of the state of Mississippi, and neighbors to Choctaw. They were less devoted to agriculture than these. With the reduction in the number of hunting animals, they developed breeding animals, such as cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and planted cotton, corn, wheat, oats, potatoes, beans, and peas, but due to wars among settlers and a decrease in their consumption good, this was the first tribe to be transferred to Oklahoma State.
