The treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican-American War. The treaty gave huge formerly Mexican lands to the US. Including California, New Mexico, Arizona and parts of Wyoming. It also settled the border dispute between Mexico and Texas formalizing the border as the Rio Grande river. It gave the US more control of North America and completed the dream of manifest destiny.
