In the Appomattox Court House, they had a battle they fought. They had Southern troops that were sent out into the war, but the Southern troops had stuff they had to do at home while they're at the battlefield. Because of this, the Appomattox Court House aloud them to come back to their homes to grow crops and other things, but only if they're loyal and will go back to the battlefield again.
