    This was one of the main reasons why Zhou power decreased significantly over several centuries. The Zhou dynasty was a Chinese dynasty that preceded the Qin dynasty. One of the issues that this dynasty encountered was the fact that centralized power decreased severely. Towards the end of the period, known as the Warring States period, the Zhou court lost control over the individual states that made up China.
