The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote, so in August 1920, more than 25 million women had their citizenship affirmed and gained a mechanism to empower themselves, their families and their communities. So through the vote women accomplished some changes in society like having family planning services and supplies allowing more women to have access to higher education and professional occupations. They also promoted the reproductive rights for women that legalize contraception and abortion. With the right for voting women also achieved the right to inherit properties, signing contracts, serving on juries, voting in elections, job opportunities and better wages.

After the result of women voting, society in the US became more equalitarian for men and women, strengthening family ties, since men and women could work together under same basis for a community.
