Alexander was the King of the Greeks and his main aim was to conquer the world. The Arabian Gulf region was targeted by him as a result of the presence of large amounts of resources in the region. This made him to send naval officers to study the terrain and geography of the Arabian Gulf region in order to plan well and attack the area to take over the region and its resources. He eventually died before the naval officers came back from the journey.
