    The answer is Manorialism

Explanation: During the early age of mercantilism manorialism worked as a key factor to establish colonies in Africa, India and Far east. When merchants used to start a business in a new area manorialism became a main aspect. The merchants used to buy a land and employed workers on the land for their profit. As a consequence of this process they had acquired a vast amount of land. So this need of land led the mercantilism to establish colonies in these areas described in question.
