    Answer

    Hi,

President Carter's foreign policy failures included not being able to bring home the Iranian Hostages

    Explanation

President Carter had strong believe in the rule of law as applied in international issues and people's self-determination. His focus was to make the United States a leading nation in promotion of human rights. He advocated for less use of military interventions and an improving relationship between the U. S and the Soviet Union.

In the Iranian hostage crisis, 52 Americans were held hostages in a seizure by the Iranian militants at the U. S Embassy in Tehran. President's Carters attempt to rescue them failed and hostages were taken to hideouts in the country. This was taken as a major failure.

In 1981 elections Reagan won with many votes defeating Carter, and during his inauguration, the hostages that were in captive for 444 days were released. However, Carter's foreign policy achievement is still remembered; during the Yom Kippur War in 1973 it made Israel disengage their armies and returned back to the Sinai Peninsula ending the war.

    Best Wishes!
