    Around 1820 Sequoyah, whom was a Cherokke leader, created a written code for the Cherokee people. This new written lenguage allowed the Cherokee Nation to write a draft of a Cherokke Constitution based on the US Constitution itself. This Constitution was adopted around 1827 and also allowed the publishing of the first Native American newspaper in 1828.
