Why were colonists angry and in opposition to the British acts?

Because they weren't being represented in Parliament when decisions to enact these acts were made. The whole "taxation without representation" thing ... that's what that means. They felt hey, if you're going to put an act in place where I have to do something, I should get some sort of say

Because they were getting paid taxes and other bad stuff even thought they moved to the new land called America and they believed that the king shouldn't control because they were far away
