What statement could the Texans make about slavery under Mexican rule?

If Mexico does not allow us to keep slaves, we will become independent

We may not like Mexican laws that restrict slavery, but we have to obey them

Slavery is less common here in the United States

We are grateful to live in Mexico, where slavery is outlawed.
