Which colonies were able to make money from slavery

The Southern colonies made the most profit off of slavery because most of the plantations were located in the South. They needed a great amount of slaves to harvest and plant crops such as cotton and tobacco. The New England and Middle colonies were more of trading colonies and most of those slaves were house servants.
