The Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution both are important documents that carry out democratic ideals.

The Declaration of Independence establishes that the Colonies were breaking apart from the British because of the idea that people had natural rights and that they had the right to create a government that would protect these natural rights.

The US Constitution created the US government a way that individual liberty would exist at the same time a working government.
