    1. Germany was required to take responsibility for the damage they caused, and as a result were ordered to pay 132 billion marks in reparations. This would have been the equivalent of 442 billion US dollars.

    2. They had to give up a lot of their land, 25,000 square miles worth which included over 7 million people. They also had to give back any land they claimed during the war.

    3. They were not allowed to have a standing army of more than 100,000 men, in a maximum of seven infantry and three cavalry divisions.
