    The historian Baylis says "that the cold was the constant confrontation between the U. S. and the USSR after World War II". Both nations were competing each other for dominance and control. It is very difficult to imagine a no cold war scenario because the power exerted by both nations in that time.

    The USSR always thought of the risks of being attacked. The same idea was considered by the U. S. The world was witnessing how the two nations wanted to be over the top of the other. The risk of war was always present. Cold War was a necessity for the USSR and the United States domination.

    No, it happened because the US fear the communism and that was the mainstay of the Soviet Union. Both of them had determined ideas: the US would not accept and the USSR would not give it up. America was comited to stop the communism advanced. There was a huge tension that couldn't been avoided to know which country was more technologycally advanced.
