    This era marked the transition of human beings from being hunters and gatherers to being dedicated to agriculture. The fact that people were dedicating themselves to cultivating the land forced them to stay for prolonged periods of time in one place. This marked the beginning of human settlements.

    In Africa, this period was known for the domestication of coffee, bananas and oil palms. Crops that are an important part of African exports until nowadays.
