Marco Polo fueled the imagination of many. People were curious and wanted some of the wealth they perceived. This inspired Colombus who also wanted to go to the East but thought it would be safer by sea than by land, thus accidentally discovering the New World. Apart from the concepts that Marco Polo brought from China, such as indoor plumbing, Marco Polo introduced Christianity in China.
