    - Powhatan Indians shared food with English settlers: this took place between 1607 and 1608, they both benefited from trade. First the colonists were dying of disease and hunger.

    - Wampanoag Indians signed a peace treaty with the Pilgrims: In 1621 they both promised to not "doe hurt" to one another. It was the first treaty signed between the native american tribes and the settlers.

    - Pequot Indians declared war on the settlers to prevent them from occupying more land: the Pequot War was fought between 1636 and 1637. It involved the Pequot people against a coalition of English settlers from the Massachusetts Bay, Connecticut, and Saybrook colonies.

    - Settlers defeated the Yamasee tribes and pushed them out of South Carolina: in the Yamasee war between 1715 and 1716. The Yamasee were defeated and the few survivors scaped to Florida.
