What Imperial City fought with akkad for control of the northern Mesopotamia

Around the bronze age in what today is Syria and Iraq, northern Mesopotamia was packed with mineral resources wanted by the Akkadian Empire wich had a surplus of agriculture but a lack of metals, this motivated them to take control over the lands of the earliest kingdoms of Syria, The Eblaite kingdom, because of the city of Ebla.

According to my research, the answer should be Ebla.
