The British forced the Chinese market to buy opium from them crippling China and enhancing Britain

    Explanation:

The aftermath of the Opium War was that the Chinese aristocracy was exposed and lost and the British were now free to exert their influence over the country in the way they deemed fir.

The most important of these influences was the forced selling of opium to the Chinese with which they were competently addicted and it ruined a generation of Chinese young men.

It also put taxes on Chinese products and took exclusive rights of sales to China for many other essentials.
