What did Henry IV do after he was excommunicated by Pope Gregory?

    He traveled to meet the Pope in Carcissa, Italy, a town in the northern part of the country. He begged the Pope for forgiveness and was subsequently restored to the church

    He started the Anglican Church

    He was excommunicated because the pope said that the Catholic faith didn't support him wanting to get an anualmente. So, in order to get annulled, he started his own church/religion
