The Articles of the Confederation by themselves were unable to solve those territorial issues with the European Powers. However, they were important to the territorial consolidation and latter expansion of the United States.

Although the Articles of the Confederation faced issues to be approved and failed in their ultimate purpose which caused them to be Northwest Ordinance that made possible the addition of new states.
