The 9th Amendment of the Constitution is below. what is the main purpose of this amendment and why is it so General.

"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

    The purpose of this amendment is to establish that the rights listed in the bill of rights will not be used to deny people other rights that they may have which are not listed in the bill of rights. It is very general because since there are many rights granted to citizens, there is no one specific right that may be brought into question, but many of them.
