What happened to some of the 100,000 communist during the long march

    90,000 of them did not make the trip. Most of those that did not make it were either killed by the GMD or died along the way due to exposure to weather, disease, thirst, starvation, etc ... The Communists were soon replenished with new members, but only 10,000 of them were survivors from the Long March.
