All questions of Lincoln were based on the slavery and its need for freedom. Lincoln advocated the emancipation proclamation which freed more than three million slaves.

    Explanation:

Stephen Douglas forced the Kansas-Nebraska Act through Congress. The bill, which cancelled the Missouri Compromise also opened up a good portion of the Midwest to the possible expansion of slavery. Unlike many other political experts, initially Lincoln also was unsure what to do once slavery ended.

Though he had shifted his opinions about emancipation proclamation on and off, he was determined in his speeches to compensate the slave owners for the loss of slave trade. Many politicians in fact did not welcome the proclamation. Though the freedom of slaves were officially proclaimed there weer still existence of black codes. But Lincoln, took the first step ahead in proclaiming freedom for the slaves.
