The colonial societies we can say that were something of a stepping stone for multiculturalism. People from multiple regions of the world came to coexist on one place, people from different racial, ethnic, cultural, religious backgrounds. This contributed to people accepting traits from the other groups of people that had different backgrounds, so over time the general culture became an interesting mixture of lots of different cultures which also little by little contributed to greater unity and the rise of a strong country.
