Nazca's principal religious and urban sites are Cahuachi and Ventilla, and that is proved by the geoglyphs made on the desert floor well known as Nazca lines. These are simple lines, cleared spaces, or animals and figures traced in outline. The expand thought several kilometers.

Some experts believe that the purpose of the Nazca lines which are located in the Nazca desert plains and other sites on the southern coast of Peru, was only as for ceremonial procession, for instance as a ritual function that may be related to the water cycle in a deserted region.
