    The correct answer would be D. In the fiscal year of 2010 spending on international affairs reached 55 billion. Add this to the 52.5 billion budget for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the total is merely 107.5 billion. This pales in comparison to the other categories. For example, just the interests on the national debt was 164 billion.
