Khruchev believed that Stalin's cult of personality was not in accordande with the Marxism-Leninism ideology and mentioned in his "Secret Speech", in 1956, after Stalin's death, that he considered this kind of cult a form of acclaiming a person as a superhuman in a position of a god, with supernatural characteristics. His views initiated a political reform known as "overcoming of the cult of personality", which resulted in eradicating Stalin's influence on the Soviet society.
