I think it is because human beings are rational and social and we like to tell stories and to be told stories, that's why we like movies, newspapers and all kinds of media. When stories are not told completely or there is something to be unfolded then it calls even more our attention.

There are many features that call even more our attention but I think that everything that involves afterlife is something that people are revolving about.

UfOs, aliens and life in other planets are issues that people are curious about too.
