How did the US constitution attempt to address the problems of the articles of confederation

    1) The Articles of Confederation created loose sovereign states and a weak central government, leaving most of the power with state governments.

    The need for a stronger Federal government soon became apparent and eventually led to the Constitution Convention in 1787.

    2) Shays rebellion showed the weakness of The Articles of Confederation.

    3) The US Constitution made the central government very strong to take tough decisions and removed all the weaknesses mentioned above.
