Indeed, Dr. King was sent to jail due to his nonviolent civil demonstrations. There, in the Birmingham jail, he wrote his famous letter called "A Letter from Birmingham Jail," in which he defends his nonviolent approach way of protesting and explained the reason of his movement, that was to protest against racism and unjust laws that affected African Americans and other minorities.
