writing the "Star-Spangled Banner," and fighting the Battle of New Orleans

It is not called, the Star-Spangled Banner. The star spangled banner is the name given to the flag of the United States that has fifteen stars and fifteen stripes. A giant flag flew in the face of the British during the bombardment of fort McHenry at the Battle of Baltimore. Francis Scott key, who was a lawyer negotiating a prison trade on board one of the ships in the harbor, was stuck when the blockade formed. Witnessing the bombardment, he then wrote "Defense of Fort McHenry" not "Star-Spangled Banner".

The Battle of New Orleans was a failed attempted by the British to capture the New Orleans and control travel on the Mississippi river. Which would devastate the American Colonies. A colonel at the time, Andrew Jackson lead a force of Militia and Military against the British, devastated the assault and is recalled as one of the greatest American Victory of all time.
