    It caused a Political divide. Democratic Republicans supported the Revolution while Federalists apposed it.

    Initially, both sides were accepting of the revolution and denounced the monarchy.

    However, after the execution of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, Federalist didn't approve of it and saying it opposed its violence and radicalism.
