In literal terms the holocaust means to burn something with fire.

In today it's a constant reminder of what happened on World War ll. The Nazi party stole everything from the Jews like jewelry and there cloths. Then they put them in a train and put them in concentration camps or other places called "ghettos". In here the Jews were starved and beaten, but you were lucky if they put you here. A place you wouldn't want to be sent to are the concentration camps, the largest being Auschwitz. Some of these camps burners were made to run on the body fat of the Jews as they were being cooked but since the Jews were being starved it never really worked. Some Jews were killed via firing squads and the body's were put in giant mounds.
