    It depends on the historian. C sounds more like it but all of the famous ancient historians have had different methodologies. Herodotus offer both sides. Thucydides wanted to keep it objective. Livy said that he wanted to make no clear line between the supernatural and the natural. the goal of the historian is to instruct and tell the people of the future what happened in the past. Offering both gives a better understanding of what happened and what people thought at the time especially the educated people.
