Would the Vietnam War be more accurately described as a cold war engagement or a struggle against colonialism? What facts would argue for each description?

    A better description of the Vietnam War would be that it was a struggle against colonialism. The Vietnamese were fighting against French oppresion at first but were later fighting against american occupation which tried to gain control of the country due to the fact that they didn't want for communism to spread.
