What two good things came out of the cold war during the 1960s

The first good thing that came out of the cold war was the reduction in military spending and that in turn resulted in the stopping of the arms race. The second most important thing that came out was the banning of nuclear tests in water, earth or space. This resulted in a more or less peaceful world atmosphere.
