The Ten Commandments was delivered by God himself.

The Hebrew is the first people that spread the idea of worshipping one God. This idea is also known as "Monotheism". According to Wikipedia, the word Monotheism derived from the Greek word "Monos" and "Theos". Monos means single and Theos means God, so basically the word Monotheism means having a single God. The idea of having one God can be found at the Bible, in the book of Genesis, you can check it at Genesis 1:26. And then, on the next book, it was introduced by Moses using the Ten Commandments at Exodus 20:3.
