    Theodore Roosevelt was known as the "trust buster." He broke up many monopolies such as railroads in the Northwest. He used the Sherman Anti-trust Act, but it was not terribly effective. Some of the big trusts broken up were the American Tobacco Company, Standard Oil, and AT&T
