The printing press altered Renaissance society by allowing books to be more inexpensive to make, were made more quickly so there was more in quantity and allowed more people to have access to reading materials because before the printing press, bookmaking was done all by hand, was an expensive process, and took a long time and there weren't as many books. the printing press also heightened the demand for books since they were now more available.
