    It was a kind of military club for young Germans. All youth were required to attend. They were indoctrinated in Nazi ideals and separated emotionally and idealogically from their parents and family and their families' beliefs, including morals and religion. Youth were important to Hitler's plan of turning Germany into his ideal of a superior race of Aryans and of having a kingdom (reich) thst would dominate for a thousand years.
