The Indian Removal Act of 1830 forced the relocation of Native Americans from their homelands to resettle in the Southeastern United States. This action was also known as "The Trail of Tears", as this was met with refusal from the Native Americans who were forcibly moved from their homes. This piece of legislation was passed by Andrew Jackson.
