    Former British fort located on the southern end of Lake George in upstate New York in the USA. Best known for the massacre by Natives allied with the French on leaving the strengthening of the British soldiers at the end of the siege in 1757, an event that was described by James Fenimore Cooper's "Last of the Mohicans ", first published in 1826 and adapted many times for film.
